Tomb Raider Cradle of Life doesn't look much better than the first movie.

Lest we forget we need a name for the main character.  Something edgy, like Killden Allded, Maxamillian (Max) Power, or our all time favorite Dick Justice.

I had a DVD-rip of the first Tomb Raider movie. Tried to watch it a few times but it was just AWFUL and I never got more than 20 minutes into it. Gave it to my brother who could never finish it as well :)

The sad thing is that the first Tomb Raider film wasn't even entertaining for the jiggle content.  I figured that would be the easiest part of the film to get right, and they failed at that.

Since Valve owns the content, and Sierra/Vivendi is in a state of flux, going to a publisher that has been on solid ground recently is a good idea for them.

As for Tomb Raider 1, I thought it was an OK movie. I was expecting a bad movie, and it was better than that. Also, I've only played a small portion of the first TR (came with my Voodoo card way back when).

I have no idea if the second Tomb Raider movie is any better than the first or not, but the trailer is poor.  Poorly edited, poorly paced.  It's a bad trailer, inferior to the trailer for the first movie.

WHAT THE FUCK IS IT??

stupid propaganda? yesterday al-Sahhaf said Coalition forces were no less than 160 miles away from Baghdad, today they were 'defeated at Saddam airport'. Even the most ignorant Iraqi should be able to grasp the idea that al-Sahhafs stories don't really add up, or at least realize that Coalition forces are advancing just a little more than al-Sahhaf said they are.

There's just still a lot of oppression going on, and Iraqi people are reluctant to put too much faith in the US. Remember, in 1991, 15 out of the 19 Iraqi provinces went into arms against Saddam, but the US Army pulled out, giving Saddam the chance to strike down the uprising. They're afraid it'll happen again and won't count their chickens before they hatch.

You can't live forever on a product from 1998. Sure, all the mods have been packaged up for sale, but they are all pretty much available for download as well.

The fact that Vivendi owns Sierra (and Blizzard) and has been rumored to be selling to anyone with cash can't make Valve feel all that comfortable with them.

Profound mistrust

Such conflicting accounts of events on the ground have been common during the 17-day-old war, and many questioned by Reuters in Arab cities doubted the U.S. claim to have entered Baghdad.

"This is a lie. Even reports that they had taken the airport are a lie. They have not taken any city except Umm Qasr, and even there, their control is shaky," a senior official at Egypt's Justice Ministry said in Cairo.

"I feel like Baghdad has fallen and I'm prepared for it, but at the same time I don't trust those embedded reporters," Mohammed said in Beirut. "Each new piece of news contradicts the last. Someone must be lying. Or maybe they all are."

joker:

it's easier for the iraqi regime to let their people believe they're winning, than it is for the US government to conceal their losses.

remember that a lot of journalists quit being embedded and chose to go their own way. on the NOS Journaal in Holland, there's a daily report from one reporter stationed in Baghdad. That guy's really there. And there are numerous other reporters freelancing throughout Iraq, that the US military has no control over. Of course they're being denied military sattelite access, but most networks bring over their own equipment.

re: Death of the PC games industry?

Glancing at the shelf selection at a recent visit to Electronic Boutique,  it does appear as if storeowners are reducing shelf space significantly (alongside smaller size packaging)  reserved for PC titles and making room for console titles.  Most of the PC titles out there  aren't really that interesting to me, even at a reduced price rate,  I already have the titles in top 50 anyway.

Coincidentally,  I just installed a new power source when the old one died out in my PC.  I fired up a game of The SimsŪ   to create a community of messageboard personality sims and celebrity sims.  This should interesting...

Right now, for me,  it's:

GBA  | Playstation2  |  Gamecube

OMG YOU MEAN AN IMAGINARY GAME THAT MIGHT BE RELEASED IN TEN YEARS IF IT EVEN EXISTS AT ALL IS GOING TO EXCLUSIVELY USE HARDWARE FROM A COMPANY THAT'S ON A DOWNHILL SLOPE (yay thanks for the new detonators, nvidia, and thanks for making it easy to revert; hint: buying 3dfx was good, buying their idea men wasn't--remember, you bought them for a reason; hint2: ATI's going to kick your asses if you keep this up) THAT MIGHT NOT EVEN BE AROUND WHEN/IF THE IMAGINARY GAME BECOMES NON-IMAGINARY?!!??!?!!

There are serious communication issues on PC recently. People don't understand eachother. Others fight their keyboards. The majority can't spell. Some can't use proper grammer. Many can't even write coherently. And the increasing hostility. And it's only getting worse.

#36 It got to a point where you almost don't want to believe anything. I think Al Sahaf is being very stupid if he thinks he can get away with lies. It's a dumb move. Yesterday I sat behind the TV waiting for some kind of breaking news after Sahaf mentioned the plans they had to kill all the troops at the airport. Nothing! Nada! Then again, it's kindof like the Shock and Awe thing. I'm still waiting for the shock and awe phase of the bombing.
