What's New with Chunkstyle?
December 9th 2014, 22:13 CET by Chunkstyle

You know what this site needs: more Chunkstyle.  His hopes, his fears, his dreams, his opinions on stupid things that no one else cares about.

I was at work with my dog and the two of us just could not figure out how to get the zebra online.

How does Chunkstyle feel about the outcome of the Scottish independence referendum?

I'm not Chunkstyle but I think Scotland voted right. Unless part of the referendum was to cast off the Queen and Crown, too, in which case I think they voted wrong.

I feel Scotland voted right, their significance seems greater as a part of the UK whole.

If Chunkstyle were to make a particular dish for Christmas dinner, what would he make?
#14 by Chunkstyle
2014-12-12 13:46:28
One Christmastime my Mom was totally frazzled.  Work was going bad with a new boss she hated, Dad's job wasn't going well, she couldn't find the toys we wanted, the whole Christmas season was driving her crazy.  So she just didn't have the energy to put together a whole turkey dinner (our standard Christmas meal) and instead made tacos.  Old El Paso tacos, with the seasoning packet and the hard shells.  Us kids loved tacos so the meal was actually a big hit.  Every year after that, up to last year, we'd always ask if she was going to make tacos.  Even when we went to Las Vegas as a family a few times we'd always suggest we do Mexican on Christmas.

So, in honor of losing my Mom this year, if I were making a Christmas dish I'd make tacos.  Something fancier than Old El Paso, maybe a few different kinds, but tacos.

What is your favourite style of chunk?  Or is it chunks in general you prefer over more fine-grained matter?

It's really more that I'm chunky and stylish, creating a "chunkstyle" as it were.  That said I often prefer the chunky to the smooth.

Does Chunkstyle think the Russian economic crash will have any effect on their foreign policy?

I like Modern Family, they've got some decent writers, but the fact everyone on the show seems to be totally minted does make my guillotining arm twitch a little.

I think the Russians, and especially Putin, are running on fear and machismo.  If anything I think the economic crash will make them act crazier.

What is the best present, Chunkstyle?

1. A memory (A trip, a surprise visit from friends, etc..)
or
2. A thing (xbox, coat, TV, etc..)

A memory is definitely better, but only in memory.  If you're giving a gift, make it a gift, the memory won't be appreciated until later.

We did eventually all get better and had a pretty good time. Family and trips and fun. With a lot of coughing and no sharing of the peace pipe.

We played Settlers of Catan and had 6 or 7 turns of 7 being rolled. We were praying to the dice gods to end the nightmare, the whole thing was pretty surrealistic.

And I lost because I fucked up.

Interesting news for anyone planning on kids?

Circumcised boys may be more likely to develop autism and ADHD by the age of 10, study claims

It's rare in Denmark, But I think in the States it's much more common.. Not sure how the statistics will work out over there but I imagine we'll find out at some point.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that this is, at best, a statistical aberration similar to the study I just saw claiming that people who eat oatmeal live longer. At worse, it's bullshit or even straight-up antisemitism.
