E3 seems to be back for good, so let's have a celebratory E3 thread
June 14th 2010, 20:05 MSD by G-Man With E3 2010 set to open today and continue through Thursday it looks like E3's position as the preeminent videogame marketing event is once again secure, having survived the mini-E3's of 2007 and 2008. Activision Blizzard is still a notable holdout, being the only major publisher without a large booth presence, but (relative) new kids on the block like Warner Bros., Bethesda and Disney Interactive have taken their place. 2010 also looks like it will be another year dominated by sequels, with the only publishers showcasing a lot of titles based on new IP or new franchises being Bethesda, Tecmo and Disney. What took multiplayer gaming so long to come into its own?
June 11th 2010, 00:45 MSD by G-Man So I recently came across an indie game platform called Sleep is Death, and its associated community. The basic idea is that it is a game where two players can get together and one person acts as a game master of sorts and crafts an adventure or story for the other player to experience or interact with. Sort of like Neverwinter Nights' multiplayer mode but more lo-fi and with a greater emphasis on free-form roleplaying rather than stat-heavy roleplaying systems. Valve keeps milking zombies
